Relax, recharge, reconnect
Vacation means melting away those worries. Keeping that in mind, we’ve created a private, mini hot-cold-relaxation spa circuit at Driftaway Lakehouse. The idea is to hop from wet or dry heat (15 mins) to a cold plunge (30 secs to 1 min) to relaxation (15 mins) then repeat. Remember, stay hydrated during all stages of the circuit, and limit each section to a time you can easily tolerate.
15-30 minutes
Hot Tub
Start in the outdoor hot tub, letting those jet streams blast away your troubles. We recommend doing this after sunset so you can light one of the two fire pits for a cozy atmosphere.
A minimum of 15 minutes to a maximum of 30 minutes to avoid overheating or dehydration.
30-60 seconds
Cold Plunge
Come fall 2024, you can experience a cold plunge bath at the lakehouse. If you are new to cold plunges, take it easy and start with shorter durations to allow your body to acclimate over time. Go into the dip slowly, toes first. Once most of your body is under water, focus on deep and controlled breathing to manage the shock of the cold water.
Start slow at 30 seconds to 1 minute. If you’re adept at this, challenge yourself by adding a couple more minutes.

Relaxation
Finish your spa circuit in front of one of the two wood fireplaces (firewood provided with your stay). Sip on a beverage of choice and as you take in the coziness of a fire. Let the warmth of the fire to melt away tension, leaving you refreshed and at peace.
