Driftaway Lakehouse takes you on an unmatched journey. The custom-built getaway on Royal Island is on a two and a half acre lot, with 500 feet of shoreline, solely yours to discover. The lodgings are divided into two independent sections, one for each family, with a shared great room, kitchen, and wood deck. You can socialize but also indulge in some solitude when you feel like it. So pack your bags and show up for the wonders of Canadiana.
Envision your vacation
The lakehouse leads to new adventures on unknown paths. We’ve thought of everything you might need, so you come with your bags and take away memories — leave the rest to us (even the garbage).
Transportation
There are multiple ways of getting to the island. You can take a water taxi at Rick’s Marina. The round trip will be included in the rental price, because we want to make sure you’re looked after from start to finish. Parking at the marina is $10/day per vehicle. If you’re confident about your boating skills, you can drive to Bluewater Marina and rent our pontoon boat docked there. Two parking spots are included in this option. Lastly, you can bring your own boat to one of the two marinas we’ve mentioned.
Free WiFi
If you’re bringing work, the cottage has WiFi to keep you plugged in. When you want to disconnect, you can go out and explore. The entertainment section is set up perfectly for a family movie night with access to several of the popular streaming services, like Netflix, Disney, Prime Video, YouTube, etc.

What do I do if there's a power outage during my stay?
A backup generator is ready to fully power the entire cottage (including hot tub) should any power outages occur to ensure no interruption to your perfect vacation.
Do we need to bring propane for the fire table or bbq?
- A propane fueled fire table is provided on the lakeside covered deck. All fuel is included with your stay
- 2 propane fired BBQ’s are provided (1 lakeside, 1 forest side). All fuel is included with your stay
How big is the hot tub?
A 7 person hot tub is provided on the lakeside deck. We use Bromine chemicals to maintain the water. Hot tub maintenance is done before you check in and every Tuesday to ensure proper balanced water and cleanliness during your stay.

Do I have to take my garbage with me when I leave?
We will remove and dispose of your Garbage/Recycling after you checkout.
